Renowned Buddhist monk, peace activist, writer, and poet Thich Nhat Hanh conducts an annual Peace Walk at MacArthur Park, just west of Downtown Los Angeles. I attended the walk in September 2007 as both a supporter of the event and an interested shutterbug.

About halfway through the walk, a boy from the neighborhood started walking ahead of the group, just curious about what was going on and not wanting to miss out. I made friends with him and we walked together for about 20 minutes, and then he disappeared back down the street.
